The Modular PPC is delivered across three teaching modules:
- Module 1: December to April
- Module 2: May to July
- Module 3: August to December
Advanced Electives take place in May and June each year.
The course is delivered in defined blocks allowing trainees to complete the PPC in discrete modules over time rather than through a continuous academic year.
This pathway is designed for those seeking greater control over the pace of their progression, including the ability to pause and resume between teaching periods as needed. It provides flexibility in how the course is completed, while maintaining the same academic and professional standard as other PPC pathways.
The programme combines structured learning with flexible delivery methods, blending online learning with scheduled onsite tuition and practical skills teaching.
Learning is delivered through a combination of:
- onsite Friday and Saturday teaching weekends (typically 3-4 per module)
- online Friday and Saturday teaching weekends (typically 3-4 per module)
- online Wednesday evening sessions throughout each module,
- practical in-person skills sessions,
- independent guided learning,
- and on demand eLectures which trainees can complete at their own pace.
- additional catch-up or support sessions may also take place during lunchtimes where required.
Trainees are required to commence the programme with Module 1 but have flexibility over how long they take to complete the course. Rather than completing the core curriculum within a single academic year, the Modular PPC allows trainees to progress through the course over a longer period, with a maximum completion timeframe of five years from the commencement of Module 1.
This pathway is designed to support trainees who require a more flexible route to qualification while still benefiting from a structured and professional focused learning experience.
