About the programme

School Tasking is a public legal education initiative created by the University of Warwick. It is currently run by 35 universities across the UK and Ireland. Inspired by the TV show ‘Taskmaster’, School Tasking uses interactive games and activities to teach children about legal concepts. The Law Society of Ireland became the first institution to introduce School Tasking to Ireland in 2023 and has successfully deliver the programme every year since.

The programme sees trainee solicitors volunteering to deliver four 90 minute workshops to 4th class students from local DEIS schools. At the end of the four lessons, a winning team of 4-5 students from each class gets to attend the regional final, hosted by the Law Society of Ireland. The winners of the regional final get the opportunity to represent Ireland at the Champion of Champions, held at Warwick University.

2026 Regional Final

Our 2026 Regional Final was the largest one to date, with 11 teams taking part in an unforgettable day of fun and learning at Blackhall Place. We were delighted to welcome Trinity College Dubin represented by 3 partner school teams, and the Open University, who travelled from Belfast with a team from their partner school, St. Mary’s.

The teams showcased their incredible skills by creating stop-go animations, solving tricky puzzles and disguising chocolate bars. The scores were neck and neck throughout the day, but it was a team from Stanhope Street Primary school that emerged victorious! They will now travel to Warwick University for the Champion of Champions. We wish them the best of luck!

The energy and creativity of the final was captured by the RTE news2day.
