Certificate in Public Legal Education
This Certificate in Public Legal Education is aimed at solicitors and other legal professionals. Participants will develop the skills to run an effective public legal education programme in their community, based on the pedagogical approach and learner-centred methodologies of Street Law.
What’s involved?
The steps involved for those interested are:
- Begin to develop your idea around a programme
- Apply for a place at our orientation training weekend which takes place in early October or attend two of our Legal Education Outreach workshops
- Implement and evaluate your chosen programme and fulfil the course requirements.
Testimonial
"A number of our team were delighted to complete the Certificate in Public Legal Education. This engagement has facilitated a more dynamic, accessible and meaningful education programme. One standout example of our collaboration is the public legal education workshop for independent law centres facilitated by John and attended by colleagues from CLM, Mercy Law Resource Centre, Ballymun Community Law Centre, FLAC, Irish Refugee Council and Immigrant Council of Ireland. Another is our Legal Eagles programme, which we run with local Transition Year students in Coolock."
