Required

  • Desktop, Laptop, or Chromebook
    You can use a desktop, laptop, or Chromebook. You cannot use a tablet or mobile device.
  • Total Memory 8GB RAM
    Your device must have a minimum of 8GB RAM. Our online Proctor provider requires at least 2GB of free RAM during the examination. Insufficient available RAM may affect the stability and performance of the exam platform. Candidates should close all applications and browser tabs before starting the examination.
  • Google Chrome Web Browser
    You will need the latest version of Google Chrome web browser and ability to install a browser plugin, and grant access to your webcam and microphone
  • Internet Connection
    A stable and reliable internet connection with an upload speed of 0.25MB+ is required
  • Webcam
    Built-in / External 640 x 480 VGA resolution min.
  • Microphone
    Built-in / External
  • Access to a phone
    If you encounter any issues during an exam, you will need access to a phone to contact a member of the Law Society

Not Suitable

  • Tablets or Virtual Machines
    A tablet or virtual machine is not a suitable device to sit your exams online
  • Firefox, Edge or Safari Web
    The proctoring / invigilation system requires you to use the latest version of Google Chrome
  • Proxy / VPN connections
    Please connect directly to the internet via your local service provider
  • Headphones / Ear bud / Smart Watches
