Verified Identity Number (VIN) update
Members with director clients have a fresh opportunity to avoid delays to CRO filings.
The Business Law Committee wishes to update members who deal with clients acting as Directors that the CRO ‘go live’ date for registration of a Verified Identity Number (VIN) has now been deferred to 11 June 2023.
Members will recall the recent article in the Gazette of 4 April 2023 on the requirement for Directors PPSN’s for certain Companies Registration Office (CRO) filings. Those Directors without a PPSN or a Register of Beneficial Ownership (RBO) will need to register for a VIN to ensure that their CRO filings are not delayed.
A chance to register
This two-week delay now gives Directors who do not have a PPSN or an RBO number a further opportunity to register for a VIN to ensure that their CRO filings of Forms A1, B1, B10 and B69 proceed without hold-up.
The Committee urges members to make enquiries of clients now to avoid setbacks and problems down the line.
Further information and updates can be found on the CRO website.
