Patrick McGilligan seminar
A day-long seminar hosted by the National University of Ireland will explore the life and legacy of Patrick McGilligan.

A new statesman for a new state
Patrick McGilligan (1889-1979) was a TD from 1923-1965 He served as Minister for Industry & Commerce, External Affairs and Finance. He was called to the bar in 1921, and later became Professor of Law at UCD in 1934. He was the 14th Attorney General. This seminar will examine McGilligan’s contribution to the political, social, economic, and constitutional development of the Irish Free State.
The seminar will explore the historical context of his career, his impact on the Irish constitution, and other issues. It will be recorded and available to view on the NUI website.
