New portal adds up for reporting accountants
Here’s a simpler system that adds up - the Law Society is launching an online portal for reporting accountants’ reports.
It enables a firm’s registered reporting accountant to upload an annual or closing reporting accountant’s report on to the Law Society’s system, with no need to send by post or email.
Sum up
The new service also notifies your reporting accountant if a firm is in arrears in filing an annual accountant’s report. Once it’s live, sole practitioners and partners can access accountant reports submitted online for their firm by logging into the Law Society website.
Notifying your accountant
We will contact all Law Society approved reporting accountants to register for the new portal in the coming days. Each accounting firm will be asked to confirm the name of a nominated 'user' reporting accountant responsible for setting up and managing access to the portal.
We ask that you also liaise with your reporting accountant on the new portal and request they register promptly. The submission of all accountants’ reports through this portal will be mandatory in the future – so early registration is key.
The portal is in the advanced stages of development and will launch in the coming months.
