A new Legal Tech Hub for solicitors has been launched by the Law Society, focusing on AI, cyber security and the increasing use of technology in day-to-day practice. There are excellent resources and tools to assist anyone working in-house or in practice.
The next event in the Legal Tech Series explores what is new in AI for lawyers with expert perspectives on the use of AI in the Irish legal sector, and the developments on the horizon. Taking place on 17 September at 1pm, this complimentary webinar provides key guidance to all solicitors.
Strengthening Society, Enhancing the Economy, Empowering our Profession: The Law Society's pre-budget submission focuses on the need for sustainable investment in the justice system to improve its accessibility and the experience for individuals and businesses.
The Business Law Committee regularly ‘goes to bat’ for legal practitioners who identify legislation that isn’t working for practical reasons. Its consultations with Government departments, the Central Bank, and the CCBE are key to the work it does on behalf of fellow solicitors.

The Law Society Library maintains an In-House Lawyers Subject Guide with information on books, eBooks, journal articles and other useful resources for lawyers in the private and public sectors.

Training
Booking is now open for the Annual In-house and Public Sector Conference taking place on 8 October in Blackhall Place from 9.30am to 1.15pm. The conference will explore the role of the in-house lawyer in a dynamic global landscape under the theme of ‘Adapting and Thriving in Transformative Times’. Expert speakers from both the private and public sectors will cover topics from the practical aspects of using AI for the In-house lawyer, to the Ireland for Law initiative and how to manage an evolving work, regulatory and business environment. 3.5 hours of CPD are available for attending.

Each event offers valuable updates and insights tailored to the specific practice areas and interests of practitioners, delivered by leading professionals and colleagues in those fields.
Micro-credentials are a growing educational initiative offered by academic institutions and other organisations worldwide. The Law Society have launched a range of specialised micro-credentials across key areas of law. These short, focused courses are designed to equip participants with both legal expertise and practical skills, making them the ideal stepping stones for career advancement. Foundations of Trauma-Informed Practice is a course ideal for in-house practitioners to gain practical tools to support wellbeing and resilience in professional settings and advance trauma-informed knowledge for use across diverse professional contexts.
