Courses in Tech, Data Protection and AI
We continue to add to our CPD portfolio for solicitors, ensuring our courses examine and demystify the latest insights on AI, cyber security, and use of technology to support you in day-to-day practice.
Over the autumn months, you can access several courses, ranging from bite-sized micro-credentials to more advanced diploma programmes for those who wish to gain expertise in the area.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) – 15 hours CPD
This online micro-credential course offers solicitors a concise, practical update on the rapidly evolving world of AI. You will gain insight into the latest legal developments, key upcoming deadlines, and the implications for practice both in Ireland and internationally. The course provides a clear overview of how AI is currently being used within organisations, preparing you to meet new legislative obligations with confidence. A hands-on session will also demonstrate how AI can be effectively applied in practice.
Data Protection – 15 hours CPD
The General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679) is the cornerstone of data protection and privacy. This course provides an exploration of the data protection framework, focusing on current best practices, legislative updates, and practical strategies to ensure compliance in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
Technology & IP Law – up to 50 hours CPD
This advanced diploma explores the legal challenges posed by technology and intellectual property (IP). Participants will explore the latest trends and gain practical insight into IP rights, data protection, transactional issues, cybercrime, and corporate risk management. The programme addresses key areas such as e-commerce, consumer regulation, software licensing, defamation, online safety, and social media liability, while also examining the legal implications of emerging technologies, including FinTech, Blockchain, LawTech, the Cloud, and AI - equipping you with the expertise to navigate this fast-evolving landscape. The number of CPD hours will depend on the way in which you access each of the individual sessions.
“I would recommend this course to anyone wishing to move into technology or intellectual property law, or to those who want to build on their existing experience and ensure they are up to date in these evolving areas. The course covers a broad and interesting range of topics, with a practical focus. The predominantly online format provides some welcome flexibility, while the onsite workshops offered great opportunities for in-depth discussions with experts on the topics, as well as a chance to meet colleagues working in similar practice areas.”
