The Society has been advised of alternative meeting rooms near the Courts in Dublin 7, given the consultation rooms in the Four Courts are currently unavailable. This notice is provided for information only and does not constitute endorsement of any venue to the exclusion of others.
Facilities for Consultations and Meetings
Solicitors should note the instruction about meetings contained in the General Practice Direction for Personal Injury Actions issued by the President of the High Court.
Paragraph 9 of the Practice Direction provides that:
- ‘No negotiations may take place at or in the courthouse. These must be held at a different venue, preferably in the weeks or days in advance of the hearing. Any negotiations as may be required on the day of the hearing must take place beyond the precincts of the courthouse.’
Fortunately, a number of venues located close to the Courts in Dublin 7 provide facilities for consultations, meetings and negotiations. Provided here is a list of some venues.
Dublin Dispute Resolution Centre
Distillery Building, 151 Church Street, Smithfield, Dublin 7. D07 WDX8. The DDRC is a purpose built centre with nine individual spaces of varying sizes. Rooms can be hired by the hour, half day or full day. Secretarial and other back-up services are available.
