Tailte Éireann Webinars

Having received a large volume of emails on these issues, particularly from small practices, the Law Society and Tailte Éireann recently co-hosted two events providing invaluable information for solicitors on optimising applications for first registration. 

These seminars—which were hosted online at no cost to attendees and with expanded capacity to ensure as many solicitors and legal staff as possible could attend —were featured in the Law Society’s inaugural Small Practice Month programme of events running throughout October. 

Over 3,000 registered for the webinars, with a total attendance of over 2,300 - a record for Law Society online events and a reflection of the interest in this topic.

Both webinars were aimed at assisting attendees in making optimised, streamlined applications to Tailte Éireann, thus reducing scope for queries and rejections. The first focused on Form 1 (First Registration of a Freehold documentary title) and Form 2 (First Registration of Leasehold documentary title). The second focused on Prescribed Form 3 (Applications for First Registration of a Freehold or a Leasehold documentary title certified by a lodging solicitor) and applications involving titles which are already registered.        

FAQ and Recording

The Law Society has received very positive feedback from the profession on both webinars, with many describing them as helpful, insightful and valuable.  Solicitors reported that the Q&A section following each webinar was particularly helpful as many common issues and concerns were explored and addressed.  With over 100 questions asked in each session, Tailte Éireann are now reviewing all queries and preparing an FAQ document. This will be published on the Law Society website along with recordings of the webinars in the next few weeks. Look out for an update in the Solicitor eZine.
