PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES (EMPLOYERS’ INSOLVENCY) (AMENDMENT) ACT 2026
Act 7/2026.
An Act to amend the Protection of Employees (Employers’ Insolvency) Act 1984; to give further effect to Directive 2008/94/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 20081 on the protection of employees in the event of the insolvency of their employer; to make provision for the deeming of employers to be insolvent in certain circumstances; to make further provision on the treatment of employees whose employer enters into an insolvency arrangement; to make further provision for the manner of calculation of certain payments made out of the Social Insurance Fund to certain employees in respect of insolvent employers; to amend the Employment Equality Act 1998; and to provide for related matters.

ASSISTED DECISION-MAKING (CAPACITY) (AMENDMENT) ACT 2026
Act 8/2026.
An Act to enable the wardship court to extend, in certain circumstances, in respect of certain individual wardship cases, the time period specified in section 54(2) or section 54(3) of the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 for a capacity declaration to be made under section 55(1) of the Act, in circumstances where the expiry of that time period is imminent and will not be met in those individual cases; for these and other purposes to amend the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015; and to provide for related matters.

Commencement: This Act shall come into operation on such day or days as the Minister may appoint by order or orders either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so appointed for different purposes or different provisions, and for the repeal of different enactments or provisions of enactments effected by section 5. A power under this section to appoint a day on which a Part (or a provision thereof) shall come into operation, whether generally or otherwise, includes a power to appoint a particular time, on a particular day, at which the Part (or provision thereof) shall come into operation, whether generally or otherwise, and, accordingly, where a time is so appointed, the Part concerned (or provision thereof) shall come into operation at that time, whether generally or otherwise.
