Getting started
To get started, log in to your job seeker profile. From here, you can:
- Upload your CV – You can save multiple versions of your CV to your profile, allowing you to tailor different CVs for different types of roles (for example, one for in-house, one for private practice, one for locum work etc).
- Complete your profile – Add a brief cover letter or profile summary, indicate your availability, and select whether you are seeking full-time, part-time, contract, or locum positions.
- Activate your profile – Once activated, your details will be advertised on the relevant CV register - for qualified solicitors, FE-1 students seeking a training contract, or trainees seeking a secondment.
This process only takes a few minutes but can significantly increase the chances of your details being seen by the right employers at the right time.
Staying visible
A common mistake is setting up a profile and then leaving it unchanged for long periods. The Register allows you to tick a box for a monthly email reminder to keep your profile active and up to date.
Refreshing your CVs, updating your availability, and reviewing your preferences from time to time signals to employers that you are genuinely available and engaged. If your circumstances change, you can log in and deactivate your profile at any point.
