Revenue is the Irish Tax and Customs administration. Its mission is: “To serve the community by fairly and efficiently collecting taxes and duties and implementing customs controls”. The External Reviewer will occasionally be required to review Revenue’s handling of a customer’s tax and duty affairs.

They will consider review applications based on the submission from the customer and related Revenue documentation and make written recommendations/ reports in a clear and concise manner. The customer complaint mechanism is detailed in Revenue’s Complaint and Review Procedures - Leaflet CS4.

Successful candidates will have:

• Significant relevant experience at a senior level in legal, accountancy, taxation and/or related academic fields.
• A good understanding of taxes and duties legislation in Ireland with experience of handling complex tax queries.
• A good knowledge and understanding of citizens’ rights and obligations in Revenue-related matters.
