Change of trading name from ‘National Irish Bank’ to ‘Danske Bank’ as of 12 November 2012

On Monday 12 November 2012 Danske Bank A/S will cease to use the trading names of ‘National Irish Bank’ and ‘NIB’. From this date onwards, Danske Bank A/S will trade in Ireland as ‘Danske Bank’. This is a change in trading name only; the legal entity will not change.

Where dating documentation on or after 12 November 2012, solicitors dealing with residential lending cases -

  • where filling out the standard IBF Housing Loan Mortgage in favour of the Bank, should populate the Secured Party as ‘Danske Bank A/S’
  • should address their Certificates of Title and Undertakings to ‘Danske Bank A/S’ and references to ‘National Irish Bank’ or ‘NIB’ will not be necessary.

In relation to commercial lending transactions, we understand that Danske Bank intends contacting all solicitors acting in these cases directly.
