Matheson LLP has appointed Charleen O’Keeffe as a partner in its disputes-and-investigations department.
She will lead the group covering intellectual-property (IP) litigation, having joined from William Fry.
The firm says that O’Keeffe’s appointment strengthens the firm’s existing offering in IP and regulatory law.
Her practice spans the full spectrum of IP law, including patents, trade marks, copyright, designs, and confidential information.
Matheson describes her as “a recognised leader” in the life-sciences sector, with a particular expertise in the intersection of regulatory law, competition law, and patent litigation.
O’Keeffe works with a wide range of national and multinational clients – from global life-sciences and healthcare companies to leading consumer-goods companies.
She also brings extensive experience in complex multi-jurisdictional IP disputes.
O’Keeffe is a lecturer on the Law Society’s IP Diploma and PPC courses.
Matheson managing partner Darren Maher said that Ireland continued to attract significant investment in technology and life sciences, leading to a “steady increase” in complex IP and regulatory disputes.
“Charleen is widely recognised as a leader in intellectual-property litigation and brings deep experience of high-value, multi-jurisdictional matters,” he added.
