Four IP award wins in row for William Fry

William Fry LLP has been awarded ‘Irish Trademark Disputes Firm of the Year’ at the Managing IP Awards 2026 for the fourth year running.

The firm was also named ‘Europe Cross-Border Patent Litigation Team of the Year’, for its work on the Moderna (BioNTech/Pfizer) matter, a highly complex, multi‑jurisdictional patent dispute concerning mRNA vaccine technology.

That award recognises William Fry’s work as part of a team of European law firms co-ordinated by Freshfields LLP.

The William Fry team was led by partner Laura Scott, together with the firm’s specialist patent-litigation team, including managing associate John Sugrue.

Outstanding achievements

The Managing IP Awards, which took place at the InterContinental London (1 May), recognise outstanding achievements in intellectual property across more than 50 jurisdictions.

Commenting, managing partner Stephen Keogh said: “These awards are a testament to the exceptional capabilities and dedication of our IP team.”
