New partner and two directors at DWF in Belfast

DWF, which provides legal and business services, has announced 19 appointments across the main practice areas in its Belfast office.

The intake includes a new partner, two directors, three newly qualified solicitors, seven trainee solicitors, and six additional legal professionals.

Deborah Archer has joined as a partner in the finance and restructuring team, bringing more than 20 years of experience advising financial institutions, companies, and alternative investors. 

Directors of employment and infrastructure

Jonathan Simpson has joined DWF as a director in employment. Qualified in Northern Ireland, England and Wales, and Ireland, he advises on all aspects of employment law – including tribunal litigation, corporate transactions, and workforce planning.

Julie-Ann McCaffrey has also been appointed as a director in the infrastructure, construction, and energy team.

Dual qualified in Northern Ireland and Ireland, she brings extensive experience in construction and procurement law.

Newly qualified solicitors

After completing their training contracts with DWF, three newly qualified solicitors will take up positions in the firm:

  • Lucy Brown (catastrophic personal injury),
  • Courtney Best (motor and fraud),
  • and Adele McCafferty (real estate).

Glen Armstrong has also joined the firm as a newly qualified solicitor in the catastrophic personal-injury team.

DWF has also welcomed seven new trainee solicitors:

  • Cooper McAuley,
  • Brendan Doran,
  • Nathan Fairley,
  • Jade Hughes,
  • Olivia Feron,
  • Joshua McClurg, and
  • Daniel Neill.

DWF has also appointed several more legal professionals:

  • Emma Payne (construction),
  • Hayley McBride (catastrophic personal injury),
  • Michael Cox (catastrophic personal injury),
  • Aimée McGoldrick (healthcare), and
  • Tim Carson (technology, media, and communications).

Julie Galbraith (managing partner in Belfast) said that the appointments represented a “significant investment” in staff and capability across key practice areas.
