Ropes & Gray has hired competition-law expert Dervla Broderick to join the global firm’s new Dublin office on Fitzwilliam Place.
Broderick moves from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), where she was deputy director for competition enforcement and mergers.
She has joined Ropes & Gray as a counsel based full-time in Dublin.
The new Dublin team will work with colleagues in London and around the world to support clients who are doing business in the EU.
The office will offer “in-depth knowledge across a range of industries, and will work with a range of practice areas – including anti-trust, life sciences, and asset management – to deliver solutions for clients on their cross-border transactional and regulatory matters”, the firm said.
A spokesman for Ropes & Gray told Irish Legal News: “We are delighted to have opened an office in Dublin, to enable us to better support our clients operating in the European Union.”
