Chicago-based Winston & Strawn and Taylor Wessing’s British business have completed a merger deal that includes the latter’s Dublin office.
Winston Taylor says that it will be one the largest transatlantic firms, with more than 1,400 lawyers in the US, Britain, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Winston Taylor Ireland LLP is led by Adam Griffiths and has a team of almost 50 people.
“Ireland sits at the intersection of US investment, European regulation, and some of the world’s fastest-growing innovation sectors,” said Griffiths.
He added that, as the only English-speaking common-law jurisdiction in the EU, Ireland was “hugely attractive” to clients.
“As Winston Taylor, we are building a genuinely transatlantic platform in Dublin designed for that reality – bringing together deep local market knowledge with integrated US, UK, and European capability, and helping clients capitalise on Ireland’s increasingly important role in international investment flows,” Griffiths stated.
He added that the firm had grown quickly in Dublin, building a broad practice across corporate, tax, private wealth, employment, property, finance, IP, regulatory, data privacy, and disputes.
