The inaugural Taylor Wessing Irish Photo Prize winners were announced at Photo Museum Ireland in Dublin (21 April).
The open call attracted more than 1,300 submissions from photographers across Ireland. The 2026 theme was ‘Community – Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine.’
The 34 artists shortlisted submitted works spanning documentary, portraiture, conceptual, and experimental practices.
Conor Horgan received the top prize of €10,000 for work from his series EDGE.
The series examines the installation of barriers along Dublin’s Grand Canal and nearby areas intended to deter homeless asylum-seekers from sleeping there.
Two judges’ selection awards of €2,500 each were presented to Laura Dunwoody and Salem Anowe Chukwuezi.
Dunwoody’s Nothing Lasts Forever documents youth and community in Ballymun.
Chukwuezi’s Covert focuses on the experiences of black men in Ireland.
The Taylor Wessing Irish Photo Bursary, valued at €10,000, was awarded to Patryk Gizicki (pictured).
