MacSweeney & Company is an award-winning firm and one of the largest indigenous legal firms in the West of Ireland. They are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Property/Commercial Property Solicitor to join their growing practice in Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to work directly with partners and clients, undertake high-quality property work and play an active role in the continued development of their Property practice.
The Role
The successful candidate will advise a broad range of private and commercial clients, including businesses, developers, investors, landlords and tenants. The role will involve a varied workload which may include:
- Acquisitions and disposals of commercial and residential property;
- Commercial leasing, acting for landlords and tenants;
- Property development and investment transactions;
- Commercial lending and property finance;
- Investigation of title and complex title matters;
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, leases and other property documentation;
- Property aspects of corporate and commercial transactions; and
- General commercial property and conveyancing advisory work.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified solicitor with relevant post-qualification experience in property and/or commercial property law;
- Have strong technical, drafting and negotiation skills;
- Be capable of managing property transactions from initial instruction through to completion;
- Be commercially aware, practical and solutions-focused;
- Be confident managing matters independently while working effectively as part of a team;
- Have excellent communication and client relationship skills; and
- Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and excellent attention to detail.
Experience across all of the areas listed above is not essential. They are particularly interested in candidates with a strong grounding in property who wish to broaden their commercial property experience and take greater responsibility for client matters.
