Law Society small practice info sessions continue

The Law Society small practice information sessions will continue into the spring.

On Wednesday this week (24 February) the session will deal with the Bank of Ireland Finance Scheme 2021. Those who are interested may register here.

Darren Bowling from Bank of Ireland will talk about the financial services available to practitioners, including the members benefit Finance Benefits Scheme.

Wellbeing

A professional wellbeing session next week (3 March) will address the topic of loneliness during COVID-19.

Dr Tony Bates, who is a regular contributor on RTÉ, will be talking to Julie Breen about solitude, loneliness, being alone, and social connection.

He will explore what happens for us when we feel lonely, and what we can learn from this experience.

In March, the sessions will focus on cyber security, with the assistance of the Technology Committee.

Risk

A session on 10 March will offer risk management tips, and those who are interested can register here.

Speaker Brian O’Mara will give an update on cyber security from an insurance perspective.

Cyber security and the risk to client funds is the topic on 24 March, and those who are interested can register here.

The Law Society’s Rory O’Neill will discuss:

  • How the majority of cyber-attacks start,
  • Examples of the most common types of attack perpetrated on the profession,
  • Steps that can be taken to mitigate the risk of attack.

Finally, Brian Sweeney from Keyhouse will also address cyber security on 31 March.
