Courts dealing with divorce and separation motions

The Dublin Circuit Court Family Law Courts are currently dealing with divorce and judicial separation motions on consent and will continue to do so until the end of the current term.

From 9 March, the court will also begin scheduling domestic violence District Court appeals, and notification letters will issue shortly.

The court says it will continue to deal with urgent matters upon receipt of an ex parte application and affidavit outlining the urgency of the matter.

The making of orders in chambers relating to pension adjustment orders, the release of reports and other consent applications will continue.

Motions and hearings

In addition, the courts will facilitate the making of any orders that have been agreed between parties for motions or hearings that have now settled, but have fallen out of the scheduled lists due to the current restrictions.

Parties are asked to notify the office via an ex parte application, with a brief factual affidavit exhibiting the original consent terms and a letter of consent from the other side.

Parties should apply via post or drop-box, indicating if they prefer a remote or physical hearing, and they will be facilitated with a date at the earliest opportunity.

The court says only one party need attend if these terms are adhered to.
