Kilkenny-based law firm Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan Solicitors LLP has appointed two new partners.
The firm said that the promotions of Aileen Gittens and Cathy Power would strengthen its legal expertise in surrogacy and immigration law, and property law.
Aileen Gittens becomes a partner in Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan’s ‘Surrogacy, Pathways to Parenthood and Immigration’ department.
She will work alongside Annette Hickey as the firm’s established surrogacy practice expands to meet growing client needs.
Gittens, who joined Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan in 2023, has been advising clients pursuing international and domestic surrogacy on all aspects of the Irish legal process.
Gittens also established the firm’s immigration department, which she continues to lead.
Cathy Power, who joined the firm in 2024, has been promoted to partner in the property department.
She has been involved in wide-ranging and high-value property transactions, as well as the property aspects of commercial transactions.
These include acquisitions and disposals, development schemes, restructuring, secured finance, residential and agricultural conveyancing, and commercial leasing.
Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan has also promoted Julie McEvoy to senior associate.
McEvoy practises in general litigation, specialising in medical negligence, personal injuries, and commercial litigation.
John Hickey (managing partner) said that the two new partners brought “exceptional expertise, deep knowledge, and hands-on experience”.
“Both promotions to the partnership strengthen the breadth and depth of our services to clients, while Julie’s promotion to senior associate reflects the continued development of talent across the firm in key practice areas,” he stated.
