Byrne Wallace Shields promotes 16 lawyers

Law firm Byrne Wallace Shields LLP has promoted 16 lawyers – including six new partners – across its main practice areas. 

Managing partner Feargal Brennan said that the firm had developed significantly in the last year, adding that there had been “material growth” across all its services in 2026. 

The six promoted partners are: 

  • Lisa Hyland (health and social care), 
  • Helen Boland (health and social care), 
  • Sean Neville (litigation and regulation), 
  • Andrew McVea (infrastructure, construction, and energy), 
  • Kristofer O’Shea (corporate), and  
  • Fergal McConnan (tax). 

‘Of counsel’ promotion 

Robert McDermott has been promoted to ‘of counsel’ in litigation and regulation, while there are seven new managing associates: 

  • Ruth O’Mara (property), 
  • Aoife Coughlan (property), 
  • Orla McCarthy Lyons (property), 
  • Ciara Redmond (health and social care), 
  • Roisin Garvey (health and social care), 
  • Lorraine Heffernan (employment law), and 
  • Rory O ’Huiginn (infrastructure, construction, and energy).

The firm has also promoted two lawyers to become senior associates: 

  • Laura Ryan (employment law), and 
  • Christoper Woods (infrastructure, construction, and energy).
