The Law Society’s Intellectual Property and Data Protection Law Committee will hold its annual conference later this month, with a focus on recent developments in data protection and AI.
Organised in collaboration with Law Society Professional Training, the event will be worth three general CPD hours.
The conference takes place in Blackhall Place on Monday 20 April (2pm to 5.15pm). Registration is now open.
Committee chair Elaine Morrissey (director, Rock Consultancy) will chair the event.
Olivia Mulooly will look at recent developments in data protection and AI – including the EU’s Digital Omnibus. Deirdre Kilroy will speak on key data-protection considerations in the use of AI for employment purposes.
Other speakers include Deirdre O’Donovan (deputy commissioner and director of legal affairs, Data Protection Commission), Carlo Salizzo (partner, Dentons LLP), and Cathal McDermott (head legal counsel, Microsoft Ireland).
There will also be a panel discussion on the impact of AI on data-protection obligations
