Two Irish among new DLA Piper global partners
Two Irish lawyers are among 65 across the world who have been promoted to DLA Piper’s global partnership.
The firm, one of the world’s largest, says that promotions have been made across all its practice areas, adding that they will further support DLA Piper’s growth ambitions in Ireland.
The two lawyers promoted from the Dublin office are:
- Orla O’Leary (employment), and
- Seán McGrenaghan (energy and infrastructure finance).
O’Leary, who joined DLA Piper Ireland in 2022, focuses on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment and equality laws.
Renewables projects
She has extensive experience working with both international and domestic clients, particularly in technology, financial services, and life science.
McGrenaghan, who also joined the firm in 2022, is an experienced energy and infrastructure finance lawyer, with a background of acting for sponsors, commercial banks, export-credit agencies, and development-finance institutions.
He has advised lenders and sponsors on the financing of large renewables projects and portfolios in Ireland and on multi-billion-euro energy and infrastructure projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Irish expansion
These promotions follow the recent appointment of Chris Jessup as partner in the firm’s litigation and regulatory practice. Joining on 1 May, he has expertise in financial-services regulation, particularly advising global payment providers.
Established in 2019, DLA Piper Ireland now employs more than 130 people – including 23 partners and ten legal directors.
David Carthy (country managing partner for DLA Piper in Ireland) said that both new global partners had shown outstanding leadership since joining the firm.
