Role description:

Doherty Solicitors are seeking to recruit a Legal Secretary to join their team commencing June 2024. The candidate for this position will be successful if they are able to execute a broad spectrum of secretarial duties, primarily related to property transactions. The candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient in microsoft office applications and should have effective time managements and organisational skills.

For the right candidate this role offers an opportunity to join Doherty Solicitors team in a collaborative, inclusive workspace in the centre of Galway city. Experience in a legal office is essential to this role. Experience working on a broad range of property transactions will be highly beneficial. Knowledge in the areas of dispute resolution and private client (probate) work is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative functions in keeping files up-to-date;
  • Preparing/formatting documents in presentable manner;
  • Picking up dictation from fee earners and issuing correspondence/preparing or collating enclosures;
  • Issuing invoices and liaising with accounts to record payment;
  • Assisting with copying, scanning, emailing and note-taking;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/attributes:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills;
  • Phone etiquette and client service skills;
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively;
  • Self-starter Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.);
  • Confident in using document management systems (Practice Evolve or other).
