The Law Society of Ireland is the professional body for the solicitor’s profession in Ireland. They are inviting applications for an Examinations Administrator in the Education Department of the Law Society. The successful candidate will have excellent administration skills, be comfortable with the use of databases and demonstrate excellent communication skills. This is a specified purpose contract.
Main duties & key responsibilities
The successful candidate will carry out the following duties in line with the Society’s standards and strategic objectives and as directed by the Examinations Manager.
- Assisting in the administration of a number of Law Society examinations
- Processing of examination applications and fees
- Distribution of scripts to examiners
- Data entry and checking of results
- Processing payments and refunds
- Liaising with examiners, invigilators and examination centres
- Dealing with a large volume of queries from candidates
- Managing administration of exam venues, including despatch of materials and room set up
- Updating exam information on Moodle and on the website
- Such other duties as may be assigned by the Examinations Manager or the Deputy Director of Education
- Early morning starts will occasionally be required
Knowledge and skills
- 3+ years’ experience in administration (Education sector preferred)
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience dealing with high volumes of queries in a professional manner Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience of Moodle would be an advantage
- Experience of organising examinations/events is desirable
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with a wide range of administrative duties
