Ferry Solicitors are a busy and well-established legal practice based in the heart of Dublin City Centre and are seeking an experienced and motivated Bookkeeper to join our growing team. We are open to considering candidates seeking either full time or part time employment.
About the role
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the firm's day-to-day financial operations within a fast-paced legal environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, detail-oriented professional who can work independently while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' bookkeeping experience, ideally within a legal practice or professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, General Ledger Management
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Previous office management or administrative management experience would be a distinct advantage
Key responsibilities
- Managing client and office accounts in accordance with relevant regulations
- Recording daily financial transactions and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Processing invoices, payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations
- Liaising with solicitors and support staff regarding financial matters and queries
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Supporting compliance with accounting, taxation, and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all financial records
- Assisting with general office administration and operational support where required
