The Role

Due to Fieldfisher LLP continued growth and ambitious plans for the future, they are seeking to a talented and motivated Construction Associate Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience to join the team. This role is ideally suited to a self starter who can confidently manage complex drafting work and take ownership of files with appropriate support.

The successful candidate will work primarily on non contentious construction matters, including advising on and drafting a wide range of construction and development documentation. You will also have the opportunity to support the wider team on contentious matters from time to time. The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience in:

- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating development agreements.

- Preparing and advising on construction contracts, including standard forms (e.g., RIAI, FIDIC, NEC, JCT) and bespoke agreements.

- Drafting and negotiating Design Team Appointments.

- Preparing Collateral Warranties, Sub Contracts, and other industry standard construction documentation.

- Advising clients on the legal aspects of project procurement, risk allocation, and contract strategy.

- Liaising with developers, contractors, consultants, funders, and insurers.

- Supporting the contentious construction team on adjudications, disputes, and other contentious matters on an ad hoc basis.

- Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.

- Ensuring all work is compliant with regulatory and professional standards.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- 3+ years' experience in non contentious construction (experience with contentious matters is an advantage but not essential);

- Demonstrable experience of drafting complex written advices;

- A strong commercial focus and business acumen;

- Ability to foster trusted relationships with our clients;

- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail;

- Strong organisational and time management skills;

- Team player with strong communication skills;

- A good work ethic with a positive "can do" attitude and approach to work;

- Capacity to work independently under own initiative.
