The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland is seeking suitable applications for the role of Assistant Director, Intelligence and Market Surveillance (Assistant Principal Officer - Standard Scale). This is an exciting and challenging role as GRAI continues to grow!

The work of the Intelligence and Market Surveillance Unit will form a core component of the GRAI’s enforcement architecture. The function will support data-driven prioritisation and enforcement decisions that deliver impactful outcomes.

Reporting to the Director of Enforcement, Legal & AML, the Assistant Director, Intelligence and Market Surveillance will establish and lead the Authority’s Intelligence and Market Surveillance Unit. The role will ensure that evidence and intelligence are lawfully gathered, securely managed, rigorously analysed and translated into actionable insight that supports risk-based enforcement, harm reduction and the disruption of illegal activity.

The Unit will gather, triage and action intelligence obtained from a range of sources including open-source intelligence (OSINT), market-monitoring activity, anonymous tip-offs, protected disclosures, consumer complaints, AML-related information and referrals from colleagues across the Authority, industry and partner agencies. The Unit will operate within the statutory framework established by the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 and will support the Authority in performing its obligations as a designated competent authority for AML/CTF supervision.
