Younger Member Committee Conference 2021 – 7 October at 2pm

This seminar, presented by the Younger Members Committee in partnership with Law Society Professional Training, will focus on what the future holds for the working lives of solicitors through the next 30 years.

The Younger Members Committee hope this will be a lively and interesting conference, with a diverse and interesting panel of speakers. The event is aimed at lawyers at all stages of their careers, and the panel discussions will follow the presentations to allow for an interactive session. Diploma in Finance Law – 12 October 2021

The Diploma Centre is accepting applications for its Diploma in Finance Law which provides a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the regulation of financial and capital markets.  

Beginning on 12 October 2021, this course will examine the provision of financial services from a national and international perspective. This dynamic area is constantly subject to regulatory and statutory changes at both a European and national level. Ireland is recognised as a global financial services and technology hub, and the course will examine the use of FinTech and RegTech in the industry. The course also focuses on specific technical and legal aspects, including a review of the underlying principles and characteristics of banking and financial markets, perspectives on corporate finance, and the regulatory issues that relate to domestic and international capital markets. 

Autumn 2021 module structure:

  • Module 1: Financial services market
  • Module 2: Industry sectors
  • Module 3: Banking sectors
  • Module 4: Loan financing
  • Module 5: Capital markets
  • Module 6: Corporate governance

Workshops are a key feature of this course with an emphasis on the application of finance law to common scenarios encountered in practice.
