This year’s Rose of Tralee escort of the year is Gavin Brady, an aspiring solicitor from the Cavan-Monaghan border.
Brady, 26, has been escorting London Rose Ciara Fallon for the duration of the Co Kerry festival.
He has enjoyed the week tremendously, which he quipped “has been like a wedding a day.
“I can’t believe it’s almost over,” he said today (18 August).
Aside from excelling as a Rose escort, Brady has worked in both the public and private sectors.
Sparked
His interest in law was sparked in transition year at St Patrick’s College in Cavan town, when he did stints with legal practitioners in the locality such as Ann McGarry in Clones and McGuigan Solicitors in Belturbet.
He was impressed with the calibre of legal talent in the region, and went on to study economics, politics, and law at DCU.
While he admits the FE1s have been a formidable challenge, Brady has six of them already completed.
He hopes to start a training contract once the final two exams are under his belt.
This year’s Rose of Tralee will be chosen live on RTÉ One tonight, with the broadcast starting at 8pm.
