Arachas to hold Calcutta Run warm-up event
Insurance broker Arachas, which is the Law Society’s official event partner for this year’s Calcutta Run, is inviting solicitors and firms to enter a team competition to be held next month.
‘Arachas Fittest Firm’ will take place at Old Wesley Rugby Club, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, on Wednesday 6 May (6pm).
Groups of any number – from one person to a maximum of seven per firm – can enter.
There will be guided warm-ups, short sprints, and novelty races, followed by a BBQ in the clubhouse.
Team leaders
Arachas says that the event is designed to help participants limber up for the Calcutta Run 2026, which takes place in Dublin on Saturday 23 May, with satellite events taking place in Cork on Saturday 23 May and Galway on Sunday 24 May.
Four top coaches will each be leading a team at the ‘fittest firm’ event:
- Olympian and world champion Sonia O’Sullivan,
- Irish middle‑distance record‑holder Dave Matthews,
- Seán Óg Ó hAilpín – three‑time All‑Ireland winner and one of Cork’s most iconic hurlers, and
- Donegal football star, All-Ireland winner, and former Donegal captain Patrick McBrearty.
The deadline for entries is Wednesday 22 April. Entry is free, but Arachas says that places are limited.
