The Law Society is inviting everyone in the legal profession to register for the Calcutta Run 2026, an annual legal fundraiser that has raised €5.9 million for homelessness services in Ireland and India since it began in 1999.
More than 1,000 participants ran or walked in the Calcutta Run in Dublin in 2025.
This year’s run, in aid of partner charities Dublin Simon Community and The Hope Foundation, was officially launched at an event held at A&L Goodbody on Wednesday 25 March.
The run, supported by official event partner Arachas, takes place on Saturday 23 May, with satellite events taking place in Cork on Saturday 23 May and Galway on Sunday 24 May.
Returning this year are popular events – the Law Debenture Golf Classic, Tennis Tournament, and Rogers Recruitment Tag Rugby.
Other sponsors of the Calcutta Run 2026 include Behan & Associates, Independent College, Kefron, Perpetua Fitness, Anataris, Nofrixion, Stryve, The Panel, and Marketing Clever.
Law Society President Rosemarie Loftus described the Calcutta Run as “the flagship charity event for the legal sector”, adding that the organisation was proud to support its two partner charities.
“By coming together as we have done for the last 25 years and more, we are able to continue to support charities that provide crucial services – including much needed housing, education, medical, and essential services to vulnerable communities, both in Ireland and in Kolkata,” she added.
Members of the legal profession, their families, and friends are invited to register and fundraise together by running or walking the 5km and 10km routes starting and finishing at the Law Society, Blackhall Place and through the Phoenix Park.
