Five new Matheson partners promoted

Matheson LLP has promoted five lawyers to become partners across three different practice areas.

The appointments bring the total number of partners and tax principals in the firm to 122.

Four of the new partners, who have already taken up their positions, are based in Matheson's main office in Dublin, and one is based in its London office.

High-profile deals

The five new Matheson partners, and their practice areas, are:

  • Susan Carroll Chrysostomou (corporate M&A),
  • Connor Cassidy (litigation),
  • Raphael Clancy (tax, London office),
  • John Coary (corporate M&A), and
  • Ruadhán Kenny (litigation).

The firm says that 2023 was a “very strong” year for its corporate M&A, litigation, and tax teams, who acted on high-profile deals – including advising Horizon Therapeutics on the completion of its acquisition by Amgen Inc, and Smurfit Kappa on its proposed combination with WestRock Company.

Michael Jackson (managing partner) said: "The promotion of these highly skilled individuals further strengthens our leadership team, and reflects the continuous growth and success of the firm in many key areas.”
