DG urges members to consider Council run

The Law Society’s Director General has urged members to consider running as a candidate in the Council elections, nominations for which close on Monday 25 September at 5pm.

”It’s important that we have as diverse and inclusive Council membership as the profession it represents, so I would encourage you to consider contributing your valuable expertise and life experience for the benefit of your colleagues and the public,” said Mark Garrett (pictured).

This year’s election will be online for the first time, with 16 places available in the general election, and two places in the provincial elections – one in Connacht and one in Munster.

Two-year term

Any solicitor holding current Law Society membership has the opportunity to put themselves forward for Council. If elected, the term is for two years.
More details on the elections are available on the Law Society’s website
