Three Irish firms take global IP prizes

Three Irish law firms took home prizes at the IAM and WTR 2023 Global IP Awards in London last week.

The awards recognise excellence in the fields of trade-mark and patent litigation, prosecution and transactional work.

McCann FitzGerald was named Patent Litigation Firm of the Year, while DFMG took the award for Trademark Firm of the Year.

The Irish office of European law firm Murgitroyd won the award for Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year in Ireland.

‘Important work’

Welcoming his firm’s win, Stephen Holst (managing partner, McCann FitzGerald) said: “The commercialisation and protection of intellectual property is especially important to Ireland, as home to many of the world’s leading global corporates in the technology, pharma, medical devices and biotech sectors.

“I’m very proud of the important work that our teams do in supporting clients in these sectors and more, which are so vital to our economy.”

Barry Moore (Patents Director and Murgitroyd’s regional head in Ireland) said: “As a collaborative group working across multiple offices, this award is reflective of collective efforts and is something the entire firm should be proud of.”
