LSRA  seeks submissions on solicitor education

The Legal Services Regulatory Authority (LSRA) has invited submissions on proposals for reform of the education and training of legal practitioners.

The Authority will hold a public symposium to discuss and examine proposals, on 19 September at the Croke Park Conference Centre. 

Professional training

Submissions on professional training are invited as well as on CPD events, further education and training courses.

The Legal Services Regulatory Authority is reporting on the education and training of legal practitioners as required under section 34(1)(a) of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015.

The LSRA is now holding further public consultation requesting submissions on the 14 proposals for reform made in the report.

The consultation notice has been circulated to key stakeholders and relevant organisations such as Bar Associations.

Following this further consultation, the Authority then plans to hold the 19 September public symposium on legal education and training to discuss and examine the findings of the Hook Tangaza external review and any other such proposals as may be subsequently made.
