Continuous training

Faculty and staff are always learning about using Apple technology in education.

iPad faculty training

Each September, before the start of the PPC, associate faculty and staff attend a teaching and learning event. This facilitates innovation, sharing of best practice for use of technology and iPad training sessions such as ‘Enhancing iPad Skills for Small Group Teaching’.

The training also focuses on the use of iPad during small group sessions where trainee solicitors use a number of apps such as AirPlay to share their work to the group enhancing peer-to-peer learning and collaboration. As associate faculty must be familiar with the teaching and learning apps used by trainee solicitors, this training ensures consistency in the standard of instruction which is given to trainee solicitors in small group sessions. IT Support is offered to associate faculty throughout all live tutorials.

Full-time staff regularly attend on-site training sessions in key iPad applications such as iMovie, Keynote, Pages and other apps for education. All new staff receive iPad training and support for apps such as Keynote, iMovie and Pages.

Throughout the PPC we offer iPad and Apple Tools training to our trainee solicitors.

Testimonial

“The extensive training in the use of the iPad provided by the Law Society was extremely helpful to me as I had no previous experience of using an iPad.  The technical knowledge gained throughout both PPC courses contributed to my success in the subsequent exams.”
