The Parole Board seeks applications from suitably-qualified legal professionals for membership of its Legal Aid Scheme.

Background

The role of the Parole Board is to consider applications for parole from qualifying parole applicants. The Act places an obligation on the Parole Board to provide for a scheme or schemes for the granting of legal aid to:

  1. parole applicants,
  2. parolees, and
  3. relevant victims who wish to make submissions to the Board.

Applicants for the legal aid scheme must be practicing solicitors or barristers who have not less than three years’ experience.

An application form, terms and conditions and further details on eligibility requirements may be obtained on the Parole Board’s website at gov.ie/paroleboard

The closing date for applications is Friday, 26 November 2021. Applications received after that date will not be considered.
