New return to work programme

A new Law Society Returner Programme is due to commence in September.

Relaunching your career

This initiative supports solicitors to relaunch their careers after a career break - typically because of family care responsibilities.

Programme participants are facilitated to familiarise themselves with relevant regulatory responsibilities and to address any skill deficits that might exist. Everyone involved is encouraged to fully consider what kind of job now suits them best and is assisted to brush up on job seeking skills.

Programme outcomes

  • Solicitors who take part in the Returner Programme are supported to:
  • Consider what personal success looks like - with their priorities at the core.
  • Confidently make decisions that support their personal vision of success.
  • Connect with people who face similar choices and share tips and strategies.

Central to the Returner Programme are workshops that take place in Blackhall Place one morning a week over four weeks. People living outside Dublin can be accommodated with a distance programme option.

The workshops help solicitors with ongoing family care responsibilities to manage demands on their time, focus on their personal priorities and align all these matters to the requirements of employers who are seeking staff in the job market.

Free for members

Cost of participation in the programme will be €120. However, solicitors who are members of the Law Society are able to participate free of charge.

To participate in this programme in late September 2018, please email Keith O'Malley.
