Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) MOOC launching today

The Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) begins today with free content delivered over the next five weeks.

The 2024 MOOC commences with welcome addresses from Law Society Director General, Mark Garrett and Ossian Smyth, Green Party TD and Minister of State with responsibility for Public Procurement, eGovernment and Circular Economy.

The first week of the course will also feature presentations from speakers including Nessa Joyce, Partner at William Fry discussing the current legal landscape of ESG, Jonathan Moore, Partner at Fieldfisher giving an overview of common sustainability principles and frameworks, Alessio Predieri, Director of Climate Change & Sustainability at EY reviewing ESG policies, and Aonghus Kelly, Muine Dubh Teoranta exploring the internationalisation of ESG.

  • The Sustainable Reporting Landscape - Deirdre Moran, Head of Professional Accounting, Chartered Accountants Ireland

  • Climate Litigation - Cliona Kimber SC

  • Biodiversity and ecosystems – data collection and actions for nature-positive organisations - Brian MacSharry, Head of Group, Nature & Biodiversity, European Environment Agency

  • The Circular Economy - Jay Sattin, Partner, Mason Hayes & Curran

  • Climate change and decarbonisation: achieving Net Zero - Elaine Daly, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden

Lectures will be released over a 5-week period and there are 7 CPD points available for completing the MOOC.
