Online info sessions for younger members

The Law Society’s Younger Members Committee is organising a series of online information sessions.

The sessions, starting at 7pm on Tuesday, 15 September, focus on career management and associated matters, such as mental health and well-being.

Virtual

The virtual meet-ups will continue every Tuesday evening thereafter.

The sessions will feature one member of the Younger Members Committee in discussion with an expert on a range of topics.

Each information session will be short – 20 to 25 minutes long – and will provide summary information with suggestions on how and where to follow up.

These information sessions will be available as Zoom events, and all younger solicitors and trainees will be welcome to participate.

There is no charge, but those interested need to register in advance in order to attend. Anonymous attendance is also an option.

The hidden job market

The first session, on Tuesday 15 September, will feature career advisor Sinead English talking about the hidden market of unadvertised jobs, and how to effectively access these opportunities.

On Tuesday 22 September, solicitor Barry McLoughlin will talk about how to impress at interview.

Barry moved into interview training with The Communications Clinic shortly after qualifying. He has helped hundreds of solicitors to prepare for interviews in recent years.
