New partner at Maples and Calder

Maples and Calder LLP, the Irish arm of the Maples Group, has announced that Claire Morrissey (pictured) has joined the firm as a partner and head of its data, commercial and technology practice.

Ms Morrissey is an adviser on data, technology and commercial contracts, with particular expertise in GDPR compliance and investigations, emerging technologies and complex sourcing projects.

She also advises on the technology, intellectual property and data aspects of joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions.

Expanding

In 2018, she was the only Irish lawyer to be listed in the prestigious '40 under 40' Global Data Review.

Maples & Calder’s managing partner in Ireland, Nicholas Butcher, described Ms Morrissey as “an exceptionally talented and experienced lawyer”.

The Maples Group says the appointment is part of a long-term commitment to expanding its European presence. It follows a number of recent appointments across the group’s European offices, where it now employs more than 700 people.
