New managing partner at Philip Lee

Commercial law firm Philip Lee has appointed Jonathan Kelly as its new managing partner.

He takes over the position from the firm’s founder Philip Lee (pictured), who will remain a senior partner in its regulatory, government and infrastructure practices.

Mr Kelly, who began his career specialising in film and television finance, has led Philip Lee’s finance practice since joining the firm in 2002.

Over the past decade, he has advised the firm’s clients on a range of corporate and financing transactions, with particular focus on the infrastructure, energy, media and property sectors. His experience includes involvement in the financing of films such as Braveheart, and television programmes such as Game of Thrones.

Founder Philip Lee said that Mr Kelly had been “pivotal” to the firm’s growth. “I am confident that he will bring ambition and vision to the years ahead, helping us to achieve even greater success in the future,” he added.
