CCBE meets in Dublin Castle for plenary session

The Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) held its plenary session in Dublin on Friday (13 May).

Taoiseach Micheál Martin gave a video message of welcome (small picture), while James Browne (Minister of State at the Department of Justice and Equality) also addressed delegates.

Chief prosecutor

The event also heard from Laura Codruța Kövesi, European Chief Prosecutor at the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Among the topics discussed were migration, the private funding of litigation, corporate social responsibility, and the situation in Ukraine.

Irish solicitor James MacGuill is the 2021/22 president of the CCBE.
