All-female round of promotions at William Fry

William Fry LLP has named two new partners in its litigation and dispute-resolution, and tax departments.

Three consultants have also been appointed in the professional development, employment and benefits, and real-estate units.

All of the appointees are women.

Desire to promote women

Managing partner Owen O'Sullivan said the promotions reflect the firm’s continued desire to support females at senior level.

This brings the number of partners in the firm to 79, with a total headcount of 480 in Dublin, Cork, London, New York, San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices.

Mary Cooney (small picture) has been appointed as a litigation and dispute-resolution partner, bringing expertise in complex clinical negligence, defence of multi-party product-liability claims, and healthcare regulatory compliance.

Anne Tobin (main picture) has been appointed as a tax partner and has 16 years' experience as an advisor to international financial-services companies.

Sinead Kelly has been appointed as a consultant in professional development for all William Fry employees.

New employment and benefits consultant Ciara McLoughlin specialises in pensions law from both employer and trustee perspectives.

Real-estate consultant Ruth Sheridan specialises in the acquisition and disposal of commercial property and lease negotiation.
